30 Year Old Cold Case Arrest in Dalton
Dalton (WDEF) – Dalton police have helped close a Cold Case dating back 30 years in Delaware.
On July 1, 1985, 54 year old Joseph Braun was found dead at his home in Wilmington.
His car was also missing.
It was found a week later abandoned in a nearby Philadelphia suburb.
But police got no where on the case, until 1999.
That’s when they got a tip that a relative had killed him.
But that relative had died in 1997.
However his girlfriend was still alive, but they couldn’t find her.
Another 15 years went by, until a Cold Case unit re-opened it last fall.
They eventually tracked Sandra Hartzag to the Dalton area.
Local detectives made the arrest last Wednesday and developed new evidence to connect her to the 30 year old murder.
