5-year-old injured after accidental shooting in Chester Frost Park

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is investigating an accidental shooting in Chester Frost Park that injured a 5-year-old.

Park Rangers and medical personnel were dispatched at 11:50 a.m. to 2277 Gold Point Circle North at Campsite #26.

The caller reported a 5-year-old bleeding from his leg.

According to HCSO, Park Rangers and EMS arrived, it was discovered the child was left in a family car when he began playing with a firearm.

The 5-year-old fired off a round, grazing his leg.

Thankfully, the child didn’t suffer any life-threatening injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation, and at this time no charges have been filed.
