56 Dogs Rescued from Vacant Ooltewah Home

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WDEF) – 56 dogs have been rescued from a vacant home in Ooltewah.

The Humane Educational Society says they discovered the dogs, including nursing mothers and puppies, were in poor conditions at the home.

Many have flea infestations, internal parasites, and other untreated wounds.

Most of the dogs are beagles, shepards, and other hounds.

They all have been taken to the Humane Educational Society for treatment.

They say they are operating at 150 percent capacity.

While the dogs from Ooltewah, are not yet up for adoption, they are looking to get other pets their forever home

Some of the rescued dogs from Ooltewah will be available for adoption at some point next week.
