70-year-old Trenton man found guilty of meth trafficking

TRENTON, Ga. (WDEF) — A Trenton man has been found guilty of trafficking methamphetamine.
Authorities conducted a drug related investigation at a home on Spring Lake Drive when a Thomas Hidgon, 70, approached them in his truck.
When Higdon made eye contact with an agent, he looked surprised and then tried to hide a black magnetic box near the truck’s center console.
He consented to a vehicle search, which resulted in agents locating 40 grams of methamphetamine inside the black box.
According to the Lookout Mountain District Attorney’s Office, Higdon was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine and Possession of Methamphetamine.
He was later sentenced to 12 years in prison, followed by 18 years of probation and a $200,000 fine.
