81-year-old male dies from injuries after weekend fire

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  An 81-year-old man died from injuries sustained from a fire over the weekend.

The Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD) was dispatched to a commercial fire on North Orchard Knob Avenue October 27, 2024.

Upon arrival, firefighters found flames venting through a window, and heavy smoke coming from the eaves.

CFD reported crews searched the building, and found a victim on the ground covered in debris.

The victim was in critical condition, and sadly died from his injuries Thursday, October 31, 2024.

According to CFD, the fire appeared to accidental, related to improperly discarding smoking materials.
