Church provides food for TSA agents
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The community is still helping people who were affected by the partial government shutdown.
Saturday afternoon members of the First Baptist Church East 8th Street dropped by the Chattanooga Airport with food for TSA agents.
They provided 64 boxes of food from Chick-fil-a.
The Pastor William Ladd said they felt compelled to help people who might have been affected and wanted to show that they care.
“Well it’s part of our church’s mission first and it’s also the mandate of Christ. So we felt that people that are working should get paid and since they were not being paid we felt compelled as much as we could to come out and help them,” Ladd said.
Earlier this week, the church gave away gift cards to folks affected by the shutdown.
