Police link two deadly shootings from the weekend

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police are releasing new information that links two murders from over the weekend.

On Friday night, 18 year old Te’unte Rice was killed on Windsor Street.

Then on Saturday, Areeyon Lane was gunned down on East Third Street.

Police say that ballistics tests show that the gun that killed Rice on Saturday, was the same one that Lane had when he was shot on Saturday.

Witnesses also identified Lane as Rice’s killer.

Even though the suspected killer is dead, the investigation continues.
