Bradley County Sheriff’s Department Investigate Fatal Shooting of Aaron “Josh” Davis

BRADLEY COUNTY, TN,(WDEF) Bradley County deputies issue an arrest warrant for Anthony George.

They’re charging him with Second Degree Murder in a fatal shooting from over the weekend.

36 year old Aaron Josh Davis lost his life while undergoing surgery after being shot Sunday.

Steve Lawson, Captain Criminal Investigations for Bradley County Sheriff’s Dept. "We were made aware that the victim had showed up or was heading towards the hospital early Sunday morning and were actually stopped by one of the patrol cars or communicated that someone had been shot inside the car."

Davis lived here at 6360 Georgetown road where investigators believe a party was held Saturday night.

"Many people came to this party. We are trying to interview as many of those folks as we possibly can and make sure we recover the truth."

Davis was transported to a local hospital where deputies had to call in backup after they say three cars arrived full of people who claimed to know Davis and who were loud, uncooperative and upset.

Davis was air-lifted to Erlanger and later died from his wounds.

Investigators believe the shooting may have happened in the victim’s home.

Georgetown residents are in shock.

Terry Beaty, Community Member and Businessman, "It’s very rare. We don’t have this, it’s shocking to everyone that this happens."

Terry Beaty says he’s lived in this rural part of Bradley County since the 1950’s and is surprised how much times have changed.

"I remember when we first moved here that no one locked their doors or cars or houses, now days the way people are you have to lock everything up."

A number of residents told us they thought the home where Davis lived and may have been shot in, was for sale.

Captain Steve Lawson of Bradley County Sheriff’s Office says it’s vital to remember this is an active investigation.

     Autopsy results on Davis are due in the coming days with investigators believing he may have been shot in the lower stomach.
