Heritage, Gordon Lee win softball state titles
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WDEF) — The Georgia peaches of high school softball a little bit forgotten about amidst a big college football Saturday. However, one of our North Georgia schools made a roar in Columbus at the state championship this weekend.
Heritage beat Northside in walk-off fashion to win their first state title in school history.
Gordon Lee topped Bowdon, 8-0, for the GHSA Class A-Private title.
Pretty cool picture. Two schools just 8 miles apart. Both won a softball state championship in Georgia today. It was Heritage’s first in AAAA and Gordon Lee’s 9th in A. Both teams took a minute to share a photo. Great job to both teams! pic.twitter.com/vVivDTfiZA
