Tree falls on home while family sleeps

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Rescue squads scrambled early this morning when a large tree crashed on top of a home.

It happened around 3:30 AM on Elaine Circle in East Brainerd.

Parents and several children were inside at the time.

Luckily, only the father was injured, with what looked like a broken arm.

But the family had to evacuate the home overnight, until a building inspector says they can move back in.
