Vols Defense Looks to Remain Stingy Against Missouri

The last time Missouri traveled to Rocky Top, the Vols and Tigers combined for over 1,300 yards of offense as Tennessee won 63-37. It’s doubtful we’ll see that kind of offensive output this weekend, especially given how Tennessee’s defense has been playing. They’ve allowed only one touchdown in their last two games. But the Vols must stop a Missouri offense that’s averaging 35-points a game.

Said Missouri head coach Barry Odom:”They’ve got a lot of athletes on defense. Playing sound and playing hard. Playing very aggressive. Assignment sound in everything they’re doing. Understand what their role is. Therefore they are playing fast.”
Said Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt:”I mean with the exception of really Alabama and Kentucky, I mean these guys I think they scored 29 on Georgia. So they have scored points. Not a whole lot of folks have slowed them down.”
