Ralston Turner Gets Loose For 33 Points as N.C. State Beats Vols

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) – Ralston Turner had career highs of 33 points and eight 3-pointers to help North Carolina State beat Tennessee 83-72 on Wednesday night.
Trevor Lacey added 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Wolfpack (9-2), who regrouped from an upset loss to Wofford over the weekend. N.C. State shot 51 percent, went 11-for-26 from 3-point range behind Turner and led by 17 points before holding off a second-half comeback to beat the Volunteers (4-4) for the second straight season.
Josh Richardson scored 17 points to lead Tennessee, which shot 10-for-18 from 3-point range. But the Vols frequently lost Turner in their trapping zone defense, allowing the fifth-year senior plenty of open looks from the outside.
Turner finished 9-for-18 from the field and 8-for-17 rom 3-point range, surpassing his previous career high of 24 points set against Hofstra in the second game of the season.
