Marion County flood victim identified

MARION COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The woman who was swept away by flood waters in Marion county last Friday has been identified.

Officials say the victim was 34-year-old Meaghen Cadwell of Chattanooga.

First reports indicated she was with two others as she tried to cross the swollen waters of the creek at Cave Cove Road in South Pittsburg.

She lost her footing and fell.

Her body was found by rescue teams almost a mile down the creek bed.

Friends and family have set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
