Alabama man killed fleeing from deputies in Jackson County

SECTION, Alabama (WDEF) – A motorcycle rider was killed Monday night while fleeing law enforcement on Sand Mountain.

The wreck happened on Alabama 35 south of Section.

30-year old William Lee Gifford was on a Yamaha motorcycle that his a Sylvania police car.

The Sylvania officer was also taken to the hospital.

The chase began in DeKalb County, and several other agencies joined in.
