7-Year-Old Gives Up Her Gifts to Help Kids in the Hospital
A local girl gave up all her Christmas gifts to help other kids this year.
7-year-old Savannah Phillips told her parents all she wanted for Christmas was to give toys to kids in the hospital.
"All I wanted wanted was a pair of house shoes and I wanted to give toys to the hospital so that they can have a happy Christmas," Savannah said.
On Tuesday, she dropped off more than 200 gifts at the T-C Thompson Children’s Hospital.
She had some help from supporters of her Facebook page and Gofundme.com
Savannah spent some time in the hospital herself.
"She had a unicameral bone cist so she was in a full cast for a long time, she had multiple surgeries, she’s had other medical conditions that’s caused her to be at this hospital," said Savannah’s mother Jennifer Phillips.
Savannah now says she wants to do something like this every Christmas.
Next year she hopes to collect gifts for homeless families.
