SRO hit by car while directing school traffic near Crossville

CROSSVILLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – A School Resource Officer was hit by a car this afternoon on the Cumberland Plateau.

SRO Scott Iles was directing traffic at North Cumberland Elementary around 3:10 (CST) north of Crossville.

The Cumberland Sheriff’s Office says he was hit by a southbound vehicle on highway 127.

The SRO was injured and flown to UT Medical in Knoxville “for precautionary reasons.”
