Golden Apple: Stephanie Brewer

HIXSON, Tenn. (WDEF) – Students say Stephanie Brewer works hard, and creates unique lesson plans.

The Hixson Middle School teacher says she loves to watch her kids learn.

School leaders say Brewer is making a difference.

George Hamrick is the Assistant Principal at Hixson Middle School.

“Miss Brewer as a teacher, is a wonderful teacher. She’s an outstanding teacher for students. Her lesson plans are always very engaging. The students focus right in on American history.”

This marks Brewer’s 19th year in the classroom.

She was an English teacher for years, but then switched gears to become a History teacher.

“I love to see kids learn. I love to see them get excited about the stories behind our nation’ history. And I just love seeing them kind of embrace their role in American history. Because they are the leaders of tomorrow.”

Students say Brewer always helps them.

That’s why she’s earned this week’s Golden Apple Award.
