Police looking for suspect who flashed girl at East Brainerd Apartments

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police are looking for a suspect who flashed a young girl in East Brainerd.

The girl’s mother said it happened in the parking lot of Hidden Creek Apartments on East Brainerd Road.

Here is the letter that apartment management sent to residents about the incident:

Dear Resident,

 As always, our primary concern while having the privilege to serve you, is to make sure we communicate openly about issues that may impact you in or around our community. The purpose of today’s letter is to inform you of an incident that occurred on the property. Specifically, a resident reports that her daughter was approached by a man in a vehicle as she walked in the parking lot. The man exposed himself to her and then left the area in the vehicle. The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating this incident.

 According to the resident, the individual involved is an African American male with a light complexion and shaved head. He is approximately 6’ tall with a slim build wearing a black jacket and black pants. He was last seen driving a maroon Nissan.

As you know, crime can occur anywhere and as much as we would like to guarantee that similar events will not happen in the future, I know that you understand that we cannot. While we take steps to promote a safe environment, we also cannot and do not guarantee personal safety and security for our residents. For this reason, it is important that you take every measure to assure your own personal safety and the safety of your property. You can find a list of safety tips in the attached document.  As always, if you see or suspect suspicious behavior, please call 911 immediately. You can assist the police by focusing on such details as tag numbers, car model/make and a detailed description of the individual(s).
