Foul Trouble Hurts East Hamilton Girls in Region Tourney Loss to Stone Memorial

Cleveland, TN-(WDEF-TV) The East Hamilton girls saw their season come to a close on Monday night after falling 60-39 to Stone Memorial in the semifinals of their region tournament. The Hurricanes led it 13-11 after the first quarter, but Miss Basketball finalist Madison Hayes picked up her third foul with 6:40 left in the second quarter and rode the bench the rest of the half. The Hurricanes had three players with three fouls in the first half. With Hayes on the bench, the Panthers out-scored the Hurricanes 20-9 in the second quarter to go up 31-22 at halftime. Hayes returned in the third quarter, and even though she scored a game high 21-points, East Hamilton could never regain the momentum. Hayes and three other players wound up fouling out for the Hurricanes. Stone Memorial will now face Bradley Central in the region finals on Wednesday night.
