Grand Jury declines to file charges in Fort Payne death

FORT PAYNE, Ala. (WDEF) – A DeKalb County Grand Jury has declined to indict a suspect in a deadly shooting at the beginning of the year.

44 year old Randell Jerome Meyers was killed in the incident in Fort Payne on Sunday morning on January 2nd.

Investigators did not release any more details on the case.

But after getting help from the Center for Applied Forensics at Jacksonville State, they presented their evidence to the grand jury.

And they decided not to issue any formal charges in the case.
