First Measles Case in Georgia Since New Outbreak
Atlanta TV stations are reporting first case of measles in Georgia.
WSB reports that the state department of health is confirming their first case since 2012.
The victim is an infant who arrived in Atlanta from outside the U-S.
Health officials are now trying to identify anyone who may have been exposed to the child.
Measles is a highly infectious, respiratory disease, for which there is no cure.
The vaccination is highly effective, but cannot be given to infants under six months.
This makes the 11th case in Georgia since 2002.
All the victims have come from overseas.
