Two men indicted in Chelsie Walker murder case
MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Monroe County Grand Jury indicted two men on Wednesday in relation to the death of Chelsie Walker.
Monroe County Sheriff Tommy Jones said Gerald Hayden Millsaps and Andrew Young are in custody.
The police department is charging Millsaps with second-degree murder and abuse of a corpse. They are charging Young with facilitation of second-degree murder and abuse of a corpse.
Chelsie Walker was reported missing on October 31, 2022, in Madisonville. The Madisonville Police Department said Walker was last seen at a residence in Tellico Plains.
The Madisonville Police Department and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office launched a joint investigation. On November 6, detectives found Walker’s remains in a remote area in Monroe County.
The police department previously said they had two suspects in custody on November 6. At the time, charges were still pending.
Sheriff Jones added, “All suspects are in custody and are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
The Tellico Plains Police Department, the Vonore Police Department, the TBI Cybercrimes Unit and the District Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation.
