Lookouts Reflect on Wild, Bizarre, and Historic Hitless Victory Over Rocket City

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) The Chattanooga Lookouts make their home debut tonight. They return to town after collecting one of the most bizzare wins in baseball history. Last Saturday the Lookouts were no hit by Rocket City, yet they won the game 7-5, scoring all seven runs in their last at-bat.

Just when you think you’ve seen everything under the sun in baseball, the Lookouts win a game by scoring seven runs without a single base hit.
Said outfielder Jacob Hurtubise:”Yeah it was one of the wildest games that I have been apart of.”
I mean the odds of Chattanooga winning that game were likely the same odds these cats have of being pro soccer players.
Said pitcher Andrew Abbott:”When you are getting no-hit, it’s kind of hard to hold like some hope that you are going to win.”
So what happened in that crazy seventh inning.
Said Hurtubise:”I think we went walk, walk. Pop fly to the infield. Another walk. A strikeout. I think I was the walk that put the first run on the board. Then they had a ball or we had a ball that was hit to the outfield. Center fielder was going back on it, and we thought it was kind of routine. It just dropped off his glove, and everything kind of spiraled for the other team from there.”
Said Abbott:”You know we were all sitting on the bench like oh my, we’re going to win this game. Like this is incredible.” (laughs)
Reality of the Lookouts achievement didn’t sink in until afterwards.
Said Abbott:”Tommy Eveld told me that the MLB record was four runs score while getting no-hit to win. So I think we set it with the seven. I’m pretty sure that’s why it was blowing up the way it was. It was a feat that almost no one has had happen.”
Reporter:”Did you save any kind of souvenir from that game?”
Said manager Jose Moreno:”No. No. Not really. My lineup card. Just in case somebody asks for it.”
Said Hurtubise:”People were texting immediately saying were you apart of this game? Like what the heck happened? But yeah I guess it’s going down in history, so that’s pretty cool. At least we were on the winning end of this.”
