Troopers launch Slow Down Tennessee driving crackdown

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – The Tennessee Safety Office launches two weeks of driving crackdowns today.

“Slow Down Tennessee” is a public awareness campaign about the dangers of speeding across the state.

But it’s not just about writing tickets.

THSO Director Buddy Lewis says “Our goal is to help reduce speeding and dangerous driving behaviors by providing yard signs for Tennesseans. Citizens are very aware of the problem areas in their communities. We want to help by supplying resources to further share our message statewide.”

You can get a sign for your own yard by emailing info@tntrafficsafety.org.

” If these signs encourage even one person to slow down or drive less aggressively, it could prevent the loss of
another life on our roadways” says Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police (TACP) President Deborah Faulkner.
