I-75 crash involving a truck filled with motor oil causes temporary shut-down of interstate

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Early Sunday morning, the Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a tractor-trailer accident on I-75 northbound.

Around 2 a.m., firefighters discovered a semi-truck carrying containers of motor oil.

The truck had crashed into the inside of the retaining wall, which divides the interstate.

Some of the contents inside the truck were spilling onto the southbound lanes of I-75.

The accident closed both north and southbound lanes while crews cleared the area.

No injuries were reported.
