Alzheimer’s Awareness

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF)- The Alzheimer’s Association’s Mid South Chapter uses the movie release of "Still Alice" to bring further awareness to the disease.

"Still Alice" tells the story of Alice Howland, a renowned linguistics professor, who is diagnosed with younger-onset Alzheimer’s.

The association says the film gives a rare opportunity to experience what it’s like to live with Alzheimer’s.

Cindy Lowery, the Senior Vice President of the Alzheimer’s Association says, "unfortunately it is more and more common that people younger are being diagnosed with this disease and so this provides great awareness for not only the disease, but the fact that the Alzheimer’s Association is available to provide services."

The movie premieres tonight at Carmike Majestic 12.
