More wintry weather is set to enter the area Friday night into Saturday morning. And the Tennessee Department of Transportation crews are ready to deal with whatever comes our way. Jennifer Flynn, TDOT Spokesperson said, "Basically our crews are on standby right now. We are not doing anything to pre-treat the roads because the temperatures are just entirely too low." Flynn says that there is a lot of salt still on the roads from earlier this week that will work to our benefit. Flynn said, "If you will notice just driving around town some of the roads look white and that’s because all of the salt we have put down in the past few days, and I’m sure its the same for the city and county as well, so the left over salt on the roadways should help us a lot."

TDOT says during events like this they keep their garages open, so if any of their equipment were to break down they can get it repaired and back out on the roadways. Flynn said, "So we have a lot of weapons at our arsenal and we also have the plows attached to all of our dump trucks. So we are ready to go." TDOT plans to monitor the weather throughout Friday night to come up with their best plan of attack. Flynn said, "We will bring our crews in or either leave them depending on where they are stationed and what their working hours are today, but we want them to get some rest before what might be a long night."
