Audit: Pikeville Clinic owes TennCare $75,000

Comptroller report says clinic reported patients who were not eligible

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – A routine audit by the state has found one issue with TennCare reimbursements in a rural health clinic in our area.

The State Comptrollers office found that the Pikeville clinic over-reported TennCare visits over a five year period.

That added up to over 700 reported visits that should not have been covered.

As a result, TennCare overpayed the clinic more than $73,000 over that span of time.

The audit characterizes the mistake as a reporting error, not criminal activity.

Their report now goes to the legislature.
