North Georgia Power Update
www.ngemc.comNorth Georgia EMC line crews have worked through the night restoring power to customers affected by yesterday’s heavy snow fall. As of 4:30 a.m., approximately 200 members are without power due to damaged trees and power lines from the weight of the snow. Extremely poor road conditions slow restoration progress in many areas. The majority of current outages are located in Gordon and Catoosa counties, with smaller pockets of outages in Chattooga, Murray, Walker, Whitfield and Floyd counties. If trees weighed down by snow and ice continue to fall, outage numbers may increase. Crews will remain on duty until all power has been restored.
Outage information, including a map of outage locations, can be found at www.ngemc.com. Updates will also be posted to the North Georgia EMC Facebook and Twitter sites. To report outages, members may download the My NGEMC Mobile App for iPhone™ and Android™ devices, or they may call one of NGEMC’s local offices 24/7. During widespread outages, hold times may be affected due to an extremely high call volume.
Because of poor road conditions, NGEMC customer lobbies and drive-thrus will operate on a delayed schedule today, opening at 10 a.m. Service disconnections are suspended during this weather event.
