Collinsville man arrested on child pornography charges

Officials in DeKalb County, Alabama, say a Collinsville man has been arrested on child pornography charges.

40 year old Ricky Herndon is facing 20 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Officials say Herndon was was suspected of sharing child porn on the internet, and an investigation found digital evidence of such.

The investigation was a joint effort among the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the Leesburg Police Department, the Alabama Attorney General’s Office and the University of Alabama Police Department.

Officials say the investigation is still open, and more charges could be coming.
