New pickle ball court opens in East Brainerd
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Parks and Outdoors held the official grand opening of Batter’s Place on Saturday morning in East Brainerd.
Pickle ball courts were built as the sport is welcoming a new local commodity.
The previous tennis courts were damaged in 2020 by the Easter tornado.
Families and people of all ages attended the opening ceremony this morning.
“I live in this neighborhood actually, and I come here like almost every single day. And I play with my dad and my dad’s friends. And I just like pickle ball,” Atharva Kolappan said.
Along with the facilities, the organization will host lessons for people of all ages.
The courts will act as a gap-bridger for everyone to get involved.
Experienced and inexperienced players can come to the area and enjoy the atmosphere.
