Registration open for chance to win TVA dam tour

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — You can now sign up for a chance to win a tour of a TVA dam. These tours will begin in August.

Registration began July 10 and the last day to sign up for a tour will be on July 23.

Winners will get to tour through Norris Dam, Chickamauga Dam, Wilson Dam or Pickwick Dam.

According to TVA, these are the last tours they will offer for summer 2023.

TVA is offering these tours as part of their 90th anniversary. This year is the first time TVA has offered public tours of the dams since 9/11.

Tours are limited to 20 people per dam, so TVA can “ensure that visitors can enjoy the ‘Built for the People’ complimentary experiences,” the company stated. They say on average, 1,000 people sign up for these tours. Therefore, they randomly draw names to choose winners.

Tours take place on Fridays and last 60 to 90 minutes.

The tours will take place on these dates:

• Norris Dam – August 11
• Chickamauga Dam – August 25
• Wilson Dam – August 4; August 18
• Pickwick Dam – September 8
