Amaero headquarters coming to Cleveland, bringing over 100 jobs
MORE:
Amaero produces titanium alloy powder, which is used as a component for many industries.
Their process of product creation is called “metal additive manufacturing,” which uses 3D printing to help create their products.
Amaero chose Cleveland for new headquarters over the United Arab Emirates.
Doug Berry is Vice President for Economic Development for the Cleveland and Bradley County Chamber of Commerce.
“The company realized that there is more stability in the marketplace,” Berry said. “Closer proximity to the major players in aerospace, defense related industries, as well as medical product manufacturing.”
The industrial building is already in place, as the industrial park has been working with a Knoxville-based contractor to build the facility and attract companies to the area.
This announcement is not unique. SK Foods announced they were building a plant on a nearby lot at Spring Branch Industrial Park earlier this year, marking huge economic momentum for Cleveland and Bradley County.
The industrial park has been in the works since 1998, and local leaders believe their investments have paid off.
“The key to being able to work with a company like Amaero is having the product ready for them to move within their timelines,” Berry said. “This basically saves them 12 months and makes them a more profitable operation versus the options that they had in the United Arab Emirates.”
The plant will bring 105 new jobs to Cleveland.
Berry says these jobs on average will pay $170,000 a year, much higher than the average plant operator income in Bradley County.
An opening date will be announced later.
“What it shows is a commitment on the part of this community to build from within, to generate the skillsets that are needed to meet the manufacturing needs of this community,” Berry remarked.

This will add 105 new jobs to the Bradley County area. In addition, the new facility “will serve Amaero’s corporate hub for its titanium alloy powder production, advanced manufacturing and R&D sector,” officials stated in a press release.
The company is investing nearly $55 million in this facility, the first of theirs in the U.S.

“The City of Cleveland welcomes Amaero to the Spring Branch Industrial Park. This combined location of the company’s global corporate headquarters, research and development and manufacturing operations is a win-win for the city, county and State of Tennessee,” stated Cleveland Mayor Kevin Brooks. “For a community originally built on foundry operations, Amaero’s efforts to advance the development of next generation integrated 3D metal printing is a partnership that moves Cleveland closer to our goal of economic prosperity for all by way of a diverse, advanced manufacturing economy that respects our rich economic history. These are great times for Cleveland, Tennessee.”
