Kids can learn all things animals, such as how to take care of them if they chose to adopt one.

“We feel it’s very important to instill kindness in our children,” said HES Community Outreach and Education Manager Jeanine Cloyd. “What better way than having them interact with animals and learn about animals, so they can pass on those things as they grow into lovely humans.”

The camp is all about earning a healthy respect for all creatures great and small.

There were crafts, games and plenty of animal interactions.

The camp is designed for children in 2nd through 5th grade.

“We want kids to respect and love all animals,” said Cloyd. “Our art projects and our enrichment for animals will revolve around wildlife.”

The camp’s registration for this year is already full.

If your child wasn’t able to attend the camp, don’t worry. The Humane Educational Society has more opportunities planned.

“We will probably do some one-day camps. We did a spring break camp; that was a lot of fun,” said Cloyd. “So, we will probably have several different child activities for the children throughout the year.”
