Catoosa County proposes pay increases in 2024 budget
CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — Catoosa County has announced new pay increases in their proposed 2024 budget. It includes increases for the sheriff’s office, emergency management, fire department and county government.
The Board of Commissioners allocated over $668,000 for pay increases toward the sheriff’s office. The county says this can provide an over $5,000 raise to every full-time employee. The sheriff’s office funding would give pay raises of around $4,000 for jail and detention officers as well.
The board has also allocated over $98,000 toward salary increases for 911 operators and supervisors at Catoosa County Emergency Management Agency/911. They say these employees may receive a $3,500 pay raise.
The board proposed providing over $503,000 for pay increases to the fire department.
In addition, full-time government employees would receive a $3,500 annual salary increase. The county says this does not include elected officials or employees paid by state grants.
