EARLIER (August 8, 2023):

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Boy Named Banjo is coming back to Chattanooga this fall.

The band is bringing their Dusk Til Dawn Tour to the Barrelhouse Ballroom on November 3.

Will Jones is opening.

“We love Chattanooga,” said William Reames, guitar and harmonica player. “[Barton Davies and I] went to [Sewanee – The University of the South], so we were always close to Chattanooga, and it’s always fun to drive back that way.”

All five band members grew up together in Nashville.

News 12 caught up with the group after they played a hometown show at CMA Fest in June.

They said they’re releasing several new songs this year, but wouldn’t give specifics.

“We’ve got some new music on the horizon, so we’ll be trickling those songs into the setlist, I’m sure. I’m really excited for everyone to hear that,” said Barton Davies, banjo player. “All we can say is that we’ve been working on it a very long time. We’ve got a lot of it, and we’re ready to put it out.”

The group made their Opry debut back in March, and has already opened up for some pretty big names, including Chattanooga’s Larry Fleet.

“[Opening for Larry] was great,” Reames said. “I mean, he’s a great artist. We love playing with people that are just music people. And I feel like Larry Fleet is a song guy, has great songs. And so his crowd I thought liked us a lot. We’d love to play shows with Larry Fleet any time.”

Boy Named Banjo is also performing at Pilgrimage Festival in Franklin on September 23.
