Hamilton County Schools Increase Counselors
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Another concern parents have shared with us is concerns over bullying.
Hamilton County Schools say they have increased the amount of the amount of school counselors and social workers available for students to talk to.
They say every school has at least one counselor.
They have also started new programs aimed to combat bullying such a having advocates available for students.
The chief for equity and advocacy for Hamilton County Schools, Dr. Marsha Drake, said, “If there’s some issues in the school where the families are feeling they haven’t been heard or seen and they’ve tried to solve it there at the school level, then we have our district advocates who come in and advocate for that family to that school administration.”
