Georgia temperatures expected in high 90s this week

ATLANTA, Ga. (WDEF) — The Georgia Department of Public Health wants to inform residents of the upcoming high temperatures and how to avoid heat dangers.

The health department expects temperatures to be in the high 90s throughout the state of Georgia. They said it could, at times, feel like over 100 degrees.

Officials say the best way to stay safe from the heat is to avoid prolonged exposure to the heat and sun, and limit strenuous outdoor activities.

Also make sure that pets are safe, with protection from the heat or sun and plenty of cold water.

The health department says to never leave anyone in a parked car without air conditioning during high temperatures.

It’s also important to stay hydrated, and avoid sugary or alcoholic beverages, the health department said.
