Settlement reached for Ooltewah mobile home park

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WDEF) — A three-year issue has just received a settlement from Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti.

Auburn Hills Mobile Home Park has faced claims since 2020 after the severe tornado impacted its residents.

Following three years after the severe tornado, a settlement has been reached with Auburn Hills Mobile Park, its management, owners and operators, and related entities to resolve the State’s suit.

The state investigated whether the Ooltewah Park owners took advantage of their residents after the storm.

Back in 2020, The Hamilton County Sheriff’s office charged the owners with keeping tornado relief donations meant for the residents.

This is what Steven West told us three years ago about those claims.

“Nobody said anything about not receiving. Everybody… We had an interpreter in here that when through the whole park telling everybody that there were supplies down here. We donated an awful lot of supplies,” owner Steven West said.

Detectives said Kimberly West confronted witnesses after she was released on the original charges.

The settlement covers ongoing issues with management.

Those include septic problems, illegal late fees, and providing documents.

The settlement requires the defendants to fix the septic issues and also pay $750,000 in penalty fees.
