Singer John Hiatt injured while hiking near Chattanooga
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Singer-songwriter John Hiatt received injuries while hiking in the Chattanooga area.
A post from his team says Hiatt fell off a hiking trail and got lacerations, bruising and a debilitating fracture in the Cumberland State Park.
Grundy County emergency personnel treated Hiatt and transported him to Erlanger in Chattanooga for further treatment. He is now at home recovering, they explained.
His team says they expect him to make a full recovery.
Due to his injuries, he had to cancel all of his scheduled shows for the rest of this year, 2023.
“He feels terrible that he has to cancel. The promoters will be providing information about refunds so please check back with them for those details. We appreciate your understanding and prayers while John is on the mend. He will see everyone soon,” they explained in the post.
