McCallie Nationally Televised Game on ESPNU With Brentwood Academy a ‘Win Win…Win’

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) McCallie’s game Friday night at Brentwood Academy is getting the ultimate hype. It’ll be televised nationally on ESPN-U, starting at 8 o’clock.

The Blue Tornado and Eagles are getting the national spotlight, since both teams feature several college prospects.

For awhile, it looked like McCallie was going to secure a nationally televised game from Chattanooga at Finley Stadium.
Said head coach Ralph Potter:”Well we had really been talking a lot to ESPN about our Woodward Academy game. Originally we were up for that slot. I think the promoting people really wanted us, and somehow we got cut in the ESPN office. So I think they were looking for an opportunity to get us on.”
And that opportunity now comes Friday night at Brentwood Academy.
Reporter:”Have you ever played on national TV before for anything?”
Said tight end and Vols commit Carson Gentle:”I don’t think I have really. So it will be a cool first experience. Get a little taste of it.”
Said receiver and Vandy commit Carson Lawrence:”When I saw it was going to be on prime time, I was pretty excited. That only makes the game. Obviously the game is going to be competitive. That just makes it even more important to me.”
Surely Coach Potter has had a lot of people telling him they can’t wait to see Big Blue on the ‘U’.
Said Potter:”They probably know better than to talk to me. (laughs) During football season. They just leave me alone.”
Do not disturb.
Potter is busy trying to figure out a way to slow down Brentwood quarterback Georgia MacIntyre.
Alabama and Georgia are just two of his college offers.
Said Potter:”Well I mean it starts with their quarterback. I think he is the number two rated prospect in his grade in the country. He can do a lot of different things. Got a good strong arm.”
Being on national TV has to be a win-win for McCallie right coach?
Said Potter:”I hope it’s a win, win….

Win. Yeah. Yeah.”
