Mom to Mom – Button Rewards
Today on Mom to Mom, we are making a button behavior jar. I don’t know about your kids, but my kids are always constantly changing and the way we punish them and reward them changes with every age. So, we like to find different ways to kind of get them involved and excited about earning things that they like in the house, like their games or money. So, this button behavior jar is wonderful for just that. So, what you’re going to need for this is, of course, a mason jar can be a big one or small one, and then some buttons. You can have regular buttons or bottle caps, kind of like these. You can get them at any craft store. Now what I have done, I have set some rewards aside. So, each button equals a dollar, and you can give them fun things to do. So, you can say during doing chores with no complaining, you get one button.
Or going to the store with no complaining, you get two buttons. So, it just helps them understand that the good behavior can be rewarded. So, once you get home and they have all that, they can throw these little guys into the jar and then they can count them up and they can either collect in for some money or some game time. You set the roles on this button, behavior jar. We personally love this. My kids seem to really associate well with it.
