Three arrested in Hamilton County for theft and drug possession
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Hamilton County deputies arrested three people and seized more than $23,000 worth of drugs in a traffic stop.
A deputy with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) checked a Nissan Rogue’s registration to find it was reported stolen. The deputy then stopped the car on Highway 153 and detained the three occupants.
Those three occupants were Brandon Hanks, who was driving, Shannon Doyle and Brittney Rutledge. Deputies booked all three in the Hamilton County Jail.
Upon searching the vehicle, authorities found a money style bag with narcotics and cash. They determined the drugs to be 274 grams of meth and 11.5 grams of fentanyl. Authorities also found drug paraphernalia and over $900.
The HCSO said the drug value was $23,300.
All three face the following charges:
- Theft of property.
- Drugs for resale: fentanyl.
- Possession of methamphetamine for resale.
- Possession of drug paraphernalia.
Shannon Doyle also had an active warrant for aggravated child abuse.
