Introducing Tigers For Tomorrow’s Newest Resident: The Majestic Cheetah Takes Center Stage in as Alabama’s only Cheetah!

ATALLA, AL (Press Release) – Tigers For Tomorrow Wild Animal Preserve proudly announces a momentous event for wildlife preservation in Alabama as Tigers For Tomorrow welcomes the only cheetah in the entire state. The cheetah named Yuma will have Tigers For Tomorrow as her new home following a thorough inspection by the Species Survival Plan (SSP).

The SSP is a prominent authority in the field of captive breeding and species preservation, recently conducted a rigorous inspection at Tigers For Tomorrow Wild Animal Preserve. Following their assessment, Tigers For Tomorrow has been officially recognized as a preserve for an aging cheetah who has gracefully aged out of the breeding program. This designation is a significant milestone, as it allows other cheetahs to participate in crucial breeding initiatives, contributing to the long-term survival of this magnificent species. Yuma was actually part of the Zoological Association of America’s (ZAA), Animal Management Program that works with the SSP. She was retired from The Metro Richmond Zoo, an accredited ZAA Facility. Yuma will spend the rest of her years at Tigers For Tomorrow in retirement, allowing the Metro Richmond Zoo to continue with their breeding program with younger viable females.

This development underscores Tigers For Tomorrow ‘s unwavering dedication to the preservation of endangered species and the promotion of biodiversity. By providing a loving and secure home to the aging cheetah, we not only honor her legacy but also actively participate in the mission to save this species from the brink of extinction.

We invite the public wildlife enthusiasts to join us in celebrating this milestone in Alabama’s conservation this Sunday October 15th at 2pm. We will host a special event with a SPOT-light on Cheetahs!

Our special guest, Dion Cillers from The Cheetah Outreach Trust, will be in attendance for a presentation on conservation efforts on the ground. Followed by a sneak peek of Yuma in her new habitat! Tickets are $50 for adults and $30 for Students. Tickets can be purchased at Tigersfortomorrow.org.

As Duma relaxes in her new home we hope to be able to invite the public to see her on Thanksgiving Weekend. Until then she will be slowly meeting small groups on private tours.
