TikTok’s Top Country Artist Tayler Holder to Play Chattanooga Show

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — TikTok’s most followed country music artist, Tayler Holder, is coming to Chattanooga this weekend.

Holder and Matt Schuster are opening for Dylan Scott on his “This Town’s Been Too Good To Us” tour this fall.

The show is at The Signal this Saturday night.

This is actually Tayler’s first tour.

“It still doesn’t feel real to me,” he said. “I’m going on the road. I’m blessed that I get to go with Dylan [Scott]. Over the last year, we got to become really awesome friends.”

News 12 caught up with Tayler at CMA Fest back in June.

He told us then that a new EP is in the works, and to expect some of that music on stage this weekend.

Tayler released his newest song, “Someone You Knew,” late last month.

“I’m going to be singing some old stuff, singing some of the new stuff on the project, probably a couple of covers as well, just to have fun to get everyone engaged,” Holder said. “This new music, I always tell people stuff that I have out is obviously, like, I hold it close to me. It’s stuff that, you know, I wrote with some of my best friends. But this project I got to write with the top writers in Nashville, and just really awesomely talented people. And so I think that this new music, people are going to kind of like realize that, ‘Hey, this TikTok kid is here to stay a little longer than we thought, and he’s actually really serious about this.'”

Tayler has 19.8 million followers on TikTok.

He features a lot of his songs on the social media app.

It’s a great way to promote his music with such a big audience.

“Whenever I got started on TikTok, I didn’t exactly get the success and all that stuff I wanted from music. I was just doing funny videos or whatever with my friends, and they just ended up getting some traction, and it ended up all working out,” Holder said. “Here recently I’ve been trying to really, you know, push my music. I’ve been working on music for a long time. I just didn’t really push it that hard. I was in the development side of figuring it all out, you know? I’ve been posting a lot of this new stuff I have coming out, and people are loving it. So I’m really excited about that.”

If you don’t have TikTok, you might recognize Tayler from country artist Ashley Cooke’s music video for her song, “Back in the Saddle.”

He says he learned a new skill for the video.

“I didn’t exactly know my role in the video. I knew I was the love interest. I knew all that stuff, but I didn’t know the entire video was us dancing, like, my part at least was us dancing,” Holder said. “I show up to rehearsals. It’s at a full blown dance studio with choreographers. All of a sudden I’m like, ‘What did I just get myself into?’ Honestly, I wouldn’t have changed it because it was the coolest experience I could have ever had. And like, just the chemistry, even though we didn’t really know each other that well at that moment, we were good friends, but like, not like great friends. The chemistry was so natural, and everything just flowed so well. They all made me feel super comfortable being there, even though I knew nobody there, so it was really awesome.”

And it’s possible Tayler could show off some of those new dance moves during his set Saturday night.

The tour already stopped in Knoxville on Thursday, and will be in Atlanta on Friday.
