Palestinian rally held at Coolidge Park on Saturday afternoon

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — An activist group protested the Israel and Palestine conflict Saturday afternoon in Chattanooga.

A rally was held in Coolidge Park with individuals demanding a cease fire in the war overseas.

“The only reason we are here is we are demanding a cease fire… We are not taking any sides. We don’t want to be on the left or the right side. All we want to do is save innocent people’s lives,” activist Faisal Saede said.

Saede claimed that the war in Palestine is all about destruction and that there is only one reason for the protest in Chattanooga: to protect the people in Palestine right now.

“We don’t belong to a group, but we are concerned citizens that live in Chattanooga… You don’t have to be a Muslim, you just have to be a human to know that people are suffering. Children, men, women, every one of them. That’s all we are trying to do is save the children; save the humans,” Saede said.

The Chattanooga Palestinian Solidarity is encouraging people to go to Washington, D.C. on November 4th to stand up and make a difference.

“They need our prayers. They need our thoughts. And they need action… Not just the words… We can’t forget them. We have to do something about it,” Saede said.

The activist claimed that this is just the beginning of making a difference.
