Progress Report: Parkway Plaza in Ft. Oglethorpe

Ft. Oglethorpe, GA (WDEF) – Our latest Progress Report is on the new retail strip opening in Ft. Oglethorpe.
Parkway Plaza is next to the Walmart on Battlefield Parkway.
The development was built by CBL, the same company behind Hamilton Place.

Parkway Plaza is rolling out several new stores to the community this spring.
So here is a look at what they have.

Hobby Lobby

The first store to open at Parkway Plaza was the Hobby Lobby.
They have been open for about a month now.
Hobby Lobby supplies material for hobbyists, including fabric crafting, candle making, soap making, woodworking, and kids crafts to name a few.
And the offer classes.
This is the fourth Hobby Lobby in our area, and the first in northwest Georgia.

Petco

The next store to open will be a North Georgia Petco.
The Grand Opening comes Monday, March 23rd.
Their slogan is that Petco is where the healthy pets go.
The national chain has locations now in Hixson and Hamilton Place.

Marshalls

And later in the week, the new Marshalls store will open.
They will hold a grand opening on March 26th with giveaways and gift cards for customers.
Marshalls promises designer fashions at amazing prices.
“The new Fort Oglethorpe store will be stocked weekly with a new, fresh assortment of the brand name and designer merchandise that our shoppers love,” said Richard Sherr, President of Marshalls.
“Our buyers are fashion experts with a keen sense of style and are passionate about finding the most coveted merchandise for our shoppers for so much less!”
The store includes an in-store boutique for contemporary fashions called THE CUBE.
And designer brands for the whole family at their Shoe Mega Shop.

Rack Room Shoes

Our second area location for Rack Room Shoes will also open in late March.
The displays are up and ready to go now.
The family shoe brand chain is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This will be their second store in our area.
Rack Room offers family shoes in the comfort, cress, casual and athletic categories.
They have national quality brands along with their own private brands.

Ross Dress For Less

The Ross Dress For Less store isn’t as far along.
They still haven’t stocked the store yet.
The company doesn’t have an opening date yet, but CBL officials estimate it will come in June.
The chain specializes in delivering department store clothing for less money, 20-60% off.

Parkway Plaza has plenty of room for more stores.
We know there is a family medical group building now and a nail salon also in the works.
The ribbon cutting for the Plaza itself is coming up on April 2nd.
