Mocs Looking to Make History Against 2nd Ranked Furman

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) Mocs hope they have the recipe for winning Saturday as they host second ranked Furman.

UTC hasn’t beaten a top five team since 1993 when they upset top ranked Marshall 33-31.

Mocs coach Rusty Wright was a player on that UTC squad.

Now he’d love another win over a top five team.

Said Wright:”It’s going to be one of those afternoons where every play is important. That’s how it’s going to be. Probably the difference in our game last year was about four plays. Five plays. When it was all said and done.”
Said running back Gino Appleberry:”Playing them is always a fun and exciting game because you love those close games. Not necessarily saying it’s close, but love those games where it’s a dogfight, and you’ve got to go to war every single play.”
