North Georgia election results
WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — Voting results have come in for 2023 Georgia city and county elections.
Both Walker and Murray Counties were voting on SPLOST funding. Voters could choose “yes” or “no” on the SPLOST.
Murray County’s SPLOST passed with 72% of the vote.
In Walker County, the TSPLOST passed with 67% of the vote.
Chickamauga, Chatsworth, Dalton and Ringgold all had a mayoral election.
Chatsworth election results came in first, at about 8:05 p.m.
Incumbent Mayor K.W. Gong defeated opponent Erin Ledford. Gong won with 65% of the vote.
In Chickamauga, the incumbent mayor did not win. Trey Deck narrowly beat incumbent Randal Dalton with 51%.
Incumbent Mayor Nick Millwood won his election in Ringgold. He beat opponent Randall Franks with 54% of the vote.
The Dalton results came in last, at around 9 p.m. Annalee Harlan Sams won the election with a whopping 68% of the vote. She beat her opponents, Tom Causby and Jason Burgin.
Sams is also the first female mayor in Dalton, she told News 12.
