Chattanooga Airport announces new nonstop flights to Las Vegas
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Airport has announced a new nonstop flight to Las Vegas.
Allegiant Air will begin offering those flights this spring.
President and CEO of the Chattanooga Airport, April Cameron, said, “The airport is extremely excited to announce new nonstop service on Allegiant to Las Vegas. This service will begin on May 16. We’re really excited about this opportunity to partner with Allegiant once again. The community has always been very supportive of our Allegiant service. Currently they fly into Orlando Samford and Tampa St. Pete. So, this is a brand-new destination that we’ve wanted for a long time. So, we’re really excited to be able to offer this to the community.”
Allegiant Air provides affordable fares as a low-cost carrier.
The airline has starting rates of $79.
“We feel like this is a great opportunity for the airport. The airport is in a great position. The city is in a great position for growth. And we just really feel like this is a steppingstone to more opportunities in the future,” Cameron said.
This new addition will service many in the Chattanooga community, as well as travelers coming into the area.
“Being on a low-cost carrier, we’re really excited not only to provide a new destination for our community, but also a destination for those in that community to come to Chattanooga and see what we have to offer. Chattanooga’s a great city. We have so many things to offer the community. So we’re really excited to bring people here as well,” Cameron said.
One-way fares will be online.
As the service gets established, the discounted rates will go up.
Cameron added, “We really feel like it’s going to open up a door of opportunity for some people who have never traveled before.”
